Bonfire night cupcakes

November 5th is Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes night. I didn't make it to see any bonfires, or fireworks. But I made some treats to celebrate the occassion. The saying goes, 'Remember Remember the 5th of November'.

The cupcakes are chocolate flavour, but I added in some melted chocolate, which made them chewy and more like a brownie in  consistency. So I decided they are Chocolate brownie cupcakes! These are topped with buttercream, then sugarpaste, more buttercream in firery colours and then Mikado chocolate sticks pushed in to build the bonfire. A sprinkling of gold glitter really adds a twinkle to the flames!

These are the firework cupcakes to add to the design. Again, these are topped with buttercream, then sugarpaste which I mixed blue and purple to make a night sky colour, and then painted a swirl of silver lustre dust on the top. The stars are made from sugarpaste in 3 different star cutter sizes and then silver edible sugar balls added to continue the swirl!
